So many people love to go camping in the summer time, so why not go camping with your company?  If you want to make more of an event out of it you can always invite other companies in your town.  Now, it is not only a fun company trip, but it is also a no pressure networking opportunity.

Make Plans

Many campsites will offer discounts to large groups who wish to stay at their site.  So designate someone to call around and see what the best deal is for everyone’s money.  Each company should also have someone in charge of all of the details.  You need to make sure that you have enough tents, decide on sleeping arrangements, pack enough food, and some fun entertainment while out there.

When packing clothes be sure to pack for both good and bad weather.  It is best to pack clothes that can be layered so that if it is nice out you wear one layer and in the evening you can add on more.

Competitions

Many see camping as a benefit because it forces you to disconnect from technology.  However, we have come to rely heavily on technology that it is easy to become bored.  A fun way to create entertainment is to plan some friendly competitions.  These competitions can stretch out over the course of the trip including activities like horse shoes, relay races, swimming, starting campfires the fastest, and catching fish.  A fun way to further encourage the competitions is to have company branded outfits, embroidered caps or promotional travel bags, while out on the trip.  You can brand them with your company name and include a fun team name as well.

Remember, the more people the merrier so make it a big event and have a good time.  Pack the bug spray, an extra jacket, and camp responsibly.
